Diagnostic Snapshot Audit

The Key to Success is Kicking Off Well

The objective of the first phase is to assess the current state of leadership within an organisation, identifying strengths, gaps and areas for development.

The audit aims to address the following:

  • Ascertain perceptions, feelings and opinions of team members with regards to the overall culture and climate within the organisation.
  • Define the environment within which your team have to manage and perform.
  • Identify areas of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • Clearly identify those areas requiring the most urgent attention.
  • Gain a clear understanding of the objectives that need to be achieved.
  • To provide a possible framework and roadmap for future interventions and processes.
  • Understand the inter-team relationships and team member’s perceptions about their other team members.

Our experience has shown that by using a 100% quantitative and a 35 – 40% qualitative sample, accurate information can be gathered. It is important that a proper cross-section of opinion is obtained, i.e. individuals who are both for and against the existing culture, management style, structures etc. As far as possible they should be “opinion leaders” at all levels in the organisation.

The audit process is designed with scalability and flexibility in mind, ensuring that the insights gained can be adapted to support the group’s future growth and evolving business needs. Baseline metrics on leadership performance, employee engagement, and organisational effectiveness will be established at the outset, providing a clear benchmark for measuring progress. To ensure continuous improvement, ongoing monitoring will be conducted through regular check-ins and evaluations using key performance indicators (KPIs). This approach will ensure that leadership development efforts are directly linked to key business outcomes, such as improved customer satisfaction, financial performance, and long-term organisational success.

Cultural alignment is a priority, with the audit carefully evaluating how current leadership practices support diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organisation. By fostering cultural intelligence within leadership, the audit will ensure that the leadership development programme strengthens inter-team collaboration and inclusivity.

In addition, the audit will assess leadership’s readiness for future challenges, including digital literacy and the ability to innovate in a rapidly changing financial landscape. Comprehensive stakeholder engagement will be a cornerstone of the audit, ensuring that feedback is gathered from all levels of leadership and that key decision-makers across HR, strategy, and operations are aligned with the leadership development goals. This engagement will foster a sense of ownership and buy-in, ensuring the strategy’s success across the organisation.

The Snapshot Audit will also establish a clear leadership identity aligned with your values and strategic goals, creating a strong, recognisable leadership brand within the organisation. This identity will resonate with leaders at all levels, fostering commitment to the group’s leadership development initiatives.

A key outcome of the audit will be the creation of tailored individual development plans for each executive team member, addressing their unique strengths, development areas, and career aspirations. These plans will align with the group’s planned career paths, ensuring that leadership development is not only personalised but also strategically integrated with your long-term objectives.

Upon completion, the Snapshot Audit will facilitate a post-programme evaluation to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the programme’s impact. This will include tracking changes in leadership effectiveness, business and revenue growth, retention rates, and other key business outcomes. The audit’s long-term, data-driven approach will ensure that your organisation builds a sustainable legacy of leadership excellence, continuously evolving to meet future challenges.
