Elephants in Main Street has been in existence since 1990 where it grew out of dynamic fusion of two unique organisations.. We service a global client base from our Head Office in Johannesburg. Even though Elephants in Main Street has established a solid reputation for turning point events in South Africa it is highly experienced in, and has a deep understanding of, international conditions.
Elephants has been used by well over 2000 organisations in across 52 countries around the world and by businesses in financial services, mining, IT & Telecommunications and FMCG sectors. We are able to combine powerful team events with organisational culture and management consulting – a unique combination that few, if any of our competitors are able to do. Pre–course questionnaires, consulting and audits ensure that the organisation gets exactly what is needed to achieve a desired outcome and objective.
We are highly experienced in, and have a deep understanding of, Southern African conditions, but our broad and varied global customer base allows us to bring experience, insights and best practice to the table. We are market leaders – innovative, creative and adaptive to changing market needs. A dedicated R&D team ensure the development of new products and new market segments. We provide outcomes based interventions (team events) and consulting with tailor made products and interventions to ensure that your objectives are met. Our Interventions are flexible and our staff are skilled in fitting the process to meet the specific needs of each organisation. Variable group sizes can be catered for from 1-on-1 coaching to groups in excess of 700.

Our Approach
Our approach is an experiential one that is complementary in that it aligns with and augments existing first-line leadership and management training by practically raising the skills and ability of supervisors and middle management to apply what they have learned.
Each programme is carefully customised to be able to ensure that language, terminology and references are applicable and real for the delegate.

Our approach and positioning in respect of the Industry: We train people very differently.
We are against the purely academic approach where delegates spend hours in the classroom listening to theory without application and relevance to the workplace.
Our approach is to provide powerful, highly structured and yet extremely meaningful learning experiences, which are designed to powerfully unite members of new and existing teams and raise the productive capacity of leaders and their teams.
Our processes clarify team purpose, create agreement and enhance performance. They bond members of the team together by enhancing the team’s ability to confront, communicate and control themselves and others.
Our process is cognitive experiential learning; which allows delegates to examine issues and objectives in a creative way and express themselves constructively so as to pull together, overcome fixed ideas and co- create a common future using our products.
Facilitation
Our facilitators are extremely carefully chosen. Their primary quality is ability, plus a great willingness to work with teams to effect better production and sales performance. They have to be leaders. They have to be able to face up to and coach the delegates through the various projects at precisely the right gradient to effect positive change. Our facilitators have a deep and practical understanding, born of experience and training, of what makes people tick. Better understanding, better co-operation, better communication and better conflict handling are part and parcel of our courses and our facilitators have to be better at these than anyone else.
Process Facilitators:
These facilitators focus on achieving the purpose of the intervention. They look at the dynamics of the team interactions, ensure that delegates are contributing, having fun, learning, growing, breaking out of their comfort zones and are winning.
Technical Facilitators:
These facilitators assist with all technical aspects relating to our products and interventions, making sure that delegates understand and learn a new skill giving them a great sense of achievement. Once delegates understand that they will be well taken care of, their attention immediately is focused on the creativity and energy that is needed for the intervention. This way we are able to get the delegates out of their comfort zones as well as ensuring that they win by creating a value- add product they never thought they were capable of doing.
